Latethread is an adults-only dating platform strictly for users aged 18 and older. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in any form. This page outlines our standards, policies, and practices for preventing, detecting, and responding to CSAE on our platform.
1. Age Restriction and Verification
- Latethread requires all users to be at least 18 years of age.
- Date of birth is collected during onboarding and verified against a minimum age threshold before account creation is permitted.
- Users who are found to be under 18 are immediately removed from the platform and their accounts are permanently deleted.
- Profile selfie verification is available and reviewed by our moderation team to help confirm user authenticity.
2. Zero Tolerance for CSAE Content
- Any content depicting, promoting, or facilitating child sexual abuse or exploitation is strictly prohibited.
- This includes, but is not limited to: child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming behaviour, solicitation of minors, sexualised content involving minors, and any content that sexualises or endangers children.
- Accounts found to be involved in any such activity are permanently banned without warning.
3. Content Moderation
- All user-generated content including profile photos, bios, posts, and messages is subject to moderation.
- Our moderation system includes automated text filtering for prohibited content and patterns.
- Our admin team manually reviews reported content, flagged profiles, and verification submissions.
- Banned users are prevented from creating new accounts using the same email address.
4. In-App Reporting
- Users can report any profile, post, or message directly within the app.
- Reports are reviewed by our moderation team and actioned promptly.
- We encourage all users to report any content or behaviour that may involve the exploitation or endangerment of a minor.
5. Reporting to Authorities
- Latethread complies with all applicable child safety laws in the jurisdictions where we operate.
- When we become aware of apparent CSAM or child exploitation, we report it to the relevant authorities, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) via the CyberTipline, and applicable regional law enforcement agencies.
- In India, reports are made to the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) and local law enforcement as required under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
- We preserve and provide relevant evidence to law enforcement upon valid legal request.
6. User Education
- Our Community Guidelines clearly prohibit any form of child exploitation.
- Our Terms of Service require all users to confirm they are 18 or older.
- We are committed to raising awareness about child safety and providing resources for users who encounter concerning behaviour.
7. Data Handling
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
- If we learn that personal information has been collected from a minor, we take immediate steps to delete that information and terminate the associated account.
